Open wooden paper notebook on a light wood desk with a glass dip pen and woven tray, symbolizing Japanese craftsmanship.

Wooden Paper Stationery from Japan

This collection features notebooks, memo pads, and loose-leaf sheets made from real wooden paper, a unique form of Japanese stationery crafted with the traditional technique of shaving wood into thin sheets. Known as Kyogi, this material has an interesting history. About 1500 years ago, when paper was rare, monks wrote Buddhist sutras on thin wood as part of their training. Today, with modern craftsmanship, Kyogi has been refined into extremely thin wooden paper, creating paper stationery that brings a natural touch to everyday writing.

Japan is still full of unique and wonderful stationery waiting to be discovered. Explore them with Komorebi Stationery.
