It was born from the needs of publishers, who wanted a high-bulk paper that could make books look more substantial even when the page count was small. Readers also appreciated this type of paper because it kept books light and easy to carry, while still giving them a solid, satisfying presence in the hand.

The problem was that traditional ground-pulp sheets used to achieve this bulk tended to yellow and fade over time. Solist was developed as a solution, offering both the desired thickness and long-lasting beauty. Its natural off-white, cream-toned color also adds warmth, making text easy to read and writing more comfortable for the eyes.
