Wooden Page Notebooks - Yamatowa
Until you open the cover, it appears to be an ordinary notebook, but upon opening, pages made from Akamatsu wood reveal themselves. This thinly sliced wood, known as "Kyogi"(経木) in Japan, was used approximately 1500 years ago in Japan by Buddhist monks to transcribe sutras. Such history has been revived today as notebooks by skilled woodworkers in the naturally abundant forests of Nagano Prefecture, using thinnings to sustain forest health.
