Tateyama Loose Leaf Paper - A4

Tateyama Loose Leaf Paper is a bright white Japanese book paper from Yamamoto Paper, cut here to A4 at 65 gsm. It is a high-bulk book stock, so it carries thickness and body without the weight, and it takes its name from the silver snow of the Tateyama mountain range in Toyama.

Measured under ISO 2470-1, Tateyama holds unusually high whiteness for a book paper, which is why publishers choose it for books where color reproduction matters. The same property does something useful for writing. On a sheet this bright, ink reads at full saturation rather than settling into a cream ground, so shading and sheen stay legible and color inks keep their intensity.

In Yamamoto Paper's own writing tests, ink stays put on the surface and does not strike through to the reverse. The sheet takes fountain pens without feathering, holds a clean line, and leaves the back of the page usable. It is also rated for inkjet and laser printing, so the same paper can carry both handwriting and print.

Each pack holds 50 blank A4 sheets, cut long grain (T-grain), together with two Yamamoto Paper guide sheets, one ruled and one grid. Slip either one under a blank sheet and the lines show through, so you can write straight and still keep an unmarked page. A practical choice for letter writing, ink testing, journaling, and anything that belongs in a folder or binder rather than a bound book.
