Taisho Romance Classy Burgundy Shimmer Ink
Taisho Romance Classy Burgundy Shimmer Ink is a glitter ink from Teranishi Chemical Industry, made for glass dip pens and dip pens rather than fountain pens. It is a deep wine red with a magenta edge to it.
Silver particles are suspended through the ink, so a finished line does two things at once. Straight on you see the base color, and as you tilt the page the silver catches the light and scatters across the stroke. Because the base is a Taisho Romance color rather than a plain glitter medium, the sparkle sits on something with depth instead of on a flat tone.
Classy Burgundy is one of the sixteen shades in Teranishi’s Taisho Romance Haikara Ink series, which the company launched in 2021 for its 105th anniversary by going back to the writing ink it sold when it opened in Osaka in 1916. We stock that original as Taisho Romance Classy Burgundy, a 40ml dye ink for fountain pens. This is the 12ml glitter version of the same shade.
Our swatch was written with a glass dip pen on YU-SARI Fountain Pen Notebook paper. The glitter settles at the bottom of the bottle between uses, so shake it well with the cap securely closed before you dip.
