Sanzen Tomoe River Loose Leaf Paper – A4 is a refined expression of Japanese paper stationery, continuing the legacy of the beloved Tomoe River paper under new craftsmanship. Since 2021, Sanzen Paper in Kanazawa has faithfully carried forward the tradition, creating ultra-thin, fountain pen–friendly sheets with more texture and durability than the original. While it remains silky smooth, it feels noticeably more resilient with a subtle tooth.

At 52 gsm, it balances featherweight thinness with surprising strength. Fountain pen ink glides effortlessly, delivering crisp lines with rich shading and sheen—while maintaining excellent resistance to feathering and bleed-through. Some users report that show-through (ghosting) is slightly reduced compared to the original, though still present depending on ink and pressure.

For those who prefer the earlier style, we also carry the Tomoegawa Tomoe River Loose Leaf Paper – A4
