A Japanese notebook with a warm earth-toned cover and one of the deepest wax coatings in the RO-BIKI lineup. The RO-BIKI NOTE by Yamamoto Paper is one of the most acclaimed Japanese stationery series among fountain pen enthusiasts worldwide, known for its distinctive waxed covers and exceptional paper quality.

The cover features Yamamoto Paper's signature RO-BIKI (wax-coating) technique: kraft paper infused with heated paraffin wax, giving it a soft sheen, gentle water resistance, and a warmth you can feel right away. The Tonoko Beige has a noticeably heavier wax application than others in the lineup. Run your fingers across the cover and it has the smooth, dense feel of a candle. Over time, the cover develops a unique patina, becoming distinctly yours with use.

The name "Tonoko" (土子) refers to a fine-grained clay powder used in Japanese crafts for centuries, traditionally applied in lacquerware and woodworking to smooth and polish surfaces to a refined finish. The color it gives here is a warm, natural beige: quiet, grounded, and easy to pair with any pen.

Inside, blank pages in Solist paper, a woodfree stock with a warm cream tone and gentle tooth at 65 g/m². Fountain pen inks absorb cleanly with minimal feathering or bleed-through, and the uncoated surface brings out depth and richness in ink colors. At just 30 grams, this Japanese notebook fits into any pocket and is ready whenever you need it.
