The Midori MD Notebook Paper Cover is a notebook cover made from a single piece of Cordoba paper, so the wrapping shares the same material as the paper inside it. Made in Japan and hand-stitched, it protects an MD Notebook while staying far lighter and more flexible than leather, and it slips over the notebook together with its original paraffin paper jacket so you can keep the wrap intact.

Cordoba paper is the heart of this cover. Made from eucalyptus wood pulp, it has a smooth, slightly moist surface with a leather-like hand, yet it is far stronger than you would expect paper to be and is very difficult to tear. The natural cream tone is warm rather than white, gentle on the eye and a quiet match for the cream MD PAPER inside. With handling the colour deepens and the surface takes on creases and a lightly scrunched character, a patina intended as a design feature rather than wear.

Inside, the cover wraps the MD PAPER that fountain pen users respect. The cream stock at 80 g/m² shows zero feathering and zero bleed-through, with only average ghosting on the reverse, so most inks sit cleanly on the page. It draws out pronounced sheen and crisp shading and dries faster than premium papers like Tomoe River. The surface carries a subtle tooth that gives controlled feedback without catching the nib, and the MD Notebook it holds is thread-stitched and opens completely flat past 180 degrees.

The cover comes in four formats: A6 for pocketable carry, B6 Variant for a narrow notebook, A5 for the everyday journal size, and the A4 Variant for spreads and sketching. Each is hand-crafted using jigs and rollers, with seaming edges reinforced and thread ends finished by hand, so the cover flexes naturally in the hand.
