I love this dip pen
"The glass nib on these flow so beautifully and its so pretty to look at on my desk"

This glass pen features a chic design based on the traditional Japanese hemp leaf pattern, with a lacquer-like sheen and deep colors that are particularly striking. The patterned section is designed to be semi-transparent, showcasing a unique pattern of green, gold, and yellow hues encapsulated within. This effect is achieved through a special technique known as "Gin-yohen," where silver foil is subjected to chemical changes by altering the oxygen levels during the heating process, creating blue and yellowish tones. Over this, clear and yellow glass are expertly wrapped to create the visible hemp leaf pattern. I was truly amazed by this unique sensibility and design when I first saw it.
The artisan behind this creation, Tomoya, is a young talent who began with self-taught burner work and primarily uses traditional Japanese motifs in his pieces. Artists who can create cool works using Japanese traditional patterns are rare, making this piece not only unique but also a testament to our mission to preserve Japanese tradition and craftsmanship.
Of course, the pen is perfectly functional for writing and sketching comfortably once dipped in ink. It is ideal for those who value art and special stationery.

Gabi Kobo is a studio where art meets tradition under the skilled hands of Tomoya Sakagami. The studio's name derives from the elegant 'Gabizan' plant, blending with Sakagami's own name to symbolize the beauty and grace of his creations. Each glass pen crafted by Tomoya is not just a tool but a piece of art, reflecting his commitment to aesthetics and functionality. He started in burner work out of curiosity after stumbling upon a beginner's kit in a department store, and his passion grew as he explored and mastered the craft independently.
Tomoya's design choices are deeply influenced by the beauty and continuity of traditional Japanese patterns. He chooses motifs such as hemp leaves and the Shippo Tsunagi not merely for their traditional value but for their stunning visual appeal and the intricate perspectives they offer. His innovative method involves connecting multiple elongated beads, allowing for detailed pattern work without compromising the integrity of the glass. This technique, along with his use of chemical reactions in the glass to create unique color effects, sets his pens apart in both beauty and construction.

"I was afraid it was goingbto be too short, but the length and with of the pen are perfect with just the right amount of weight to make a solid writing experience. The fact that it comes with a color matching rest is the cherry on top. I'm tempted to buy another variation of this pen. The nib and flow are perfect."
"I love the hemp leaves pen because it is nice to write with and is aesthetically beautiful to look at. The tip is a little scratchy on paper now but should resolve itself with more use over time. A very nice pen for the price! Thanks!"
