Emerald Flower Glass Dip Pen with Pen Rest

The Emerald Flower Glass Dip Pen is a handcrafted Japanese glass dip pen from Gabi Kobo, its green and white marbled barrel carrying near-black five-petal blossoms. The marbling moves between stronger and paler green along the length, and no two barrels break the same way.

The blossoms are drawn onto the surface of the marbled glass, scattered along the barrel instead of running in a repeating row. In near-black they hold a clean outline against the green moving beneath them.

Tomoya Sakagami makes every Gabi Kobo pen himself at the burner. He is a young artisan, self-taught since coming across a beginner's kit in a department store.

The pen comes with a matching marbled pen rest made of two fused spheres, which holds a loaded nib clear of your paper. It writes with Japanese dip pen inks straight from the bottle, and the nib rinses clean in water.
