Wood is still wood, so fountain pen ink feathers along the fibers and a sheet can warp if it gets very wet, but the extra thickness resists bleeding through to the sheet behind. Every page carries a different grain pattern and the faint resin scent of pine, which is why a drawing made here cannot quite be repeated.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePages come out one at a time. Hold the block near the glued spine and peel slowly, and a finished piece lifts away clean enough to frame.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe hardcover is linen over board, in undyed natural or brown, with an elastic band to hold the book closed.
